Patrick McGuiness is a founding member of the EBS Builders advisory board. Since 2024 he has advised the company on governance structure, and the long-term planning for a multigenerational business. Patrick also serves on the board of directors for a mutual insurance company and spent fourteen years on the board of a $4.5 billion financial institution.

Patrick is co-founder of Canopy Business Law, the Midwest’s only law firm dedicated to the landscape construction industry, and taught negotiation and advocacy as an adjunct law professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law for a decade. He also serves in the U.S. Army Reserve as a legal advisor and has worked in a variety of capacities over a 15-year career. Patrick earned his Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.

Outside the boardroom, Patrick enjoys traveling with his family, running, and alpine skiing. He summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, has completed numerous marathons, and traveled to 38 countries.
